Common Causes Of Hair Loss

Hair loss typically refers to excessive hair loss in your scalp. Some individuals prefer to leave their hair loss alone and unhindered. Others will cover up their thinning hair with toupees, hats, makeup or scarves. And still other individuals will go to one of the many hair loss treatments on the market to either restore lost growth or stop further hair loss. There are many products on the market that are supposed to stop balding and regrow hair. One of these procedures is Scalp Micropigmentation that is offered by professionals from companies like His Hair Clinic.

One type of hair loss is called alopecia areata, which affects men more often than women. This disorder is also known as male pattern baldness. This is caused by a small, blood vessel-like tissue on the scalp that becomes injured over time. This small vessel is called a follicle, and as it thinks, new hair is not able to develop. Alopecia areata commonly affects those men who are balding at an early age, and it tends to run in families.

Another common cause of hair loss is telogen effluvium. Telogen effluvium is more commonly known as “hair shedding,” because the hair falling out tends to look very similar to real shed hair. Normally, hair strands that have been shed drop out from the scalp over time. With telogen effluvium, the hair strands begin to fall out at an accelerated rate, which can be very disconcerting for the person suffering from it. While this condition is commonly associated with pregnancy, it can also occur at any time after the hair strands have first fallen out. For this reason, pregnant women are particularly vulnerable to this condition and must seek treatment immediately if they notice hair shedding during this time.
