Care for Laminate Flooring
It can be difficult to keep your flooring looking new for as long as you want, especially in areas with high traffic. There are many ways to maintain laminate flooring. If you follow these tips, it’s easy to maintain a low maintenance floor covering.
What products can be used?
In addition to the approved products by the manufacturer of the laminate, regular cleaners work equally well. The less powerful cleaners can help keep your floor looking great on a daily basis.
Mats are also useful for preventing the floor from getting wet. These mats are useful in preventing your floor from becoming affected by moisture. For 12mm Laminate Wood Flooring, contact Irwin Tiles.
You’ll also need a bucket and mop for when you do have to clean up mud or water on the floor. You can also use a soft broom to collect small particles. Consider using table leg pads, or castors on chairs to prevent denting laminate flooring.
The flooring is not waterproof, so spillages should be cleaned up immediately. All you need is a slightly dampened cloth. A wet mop can cause the laminate to buckle or warp if it seeps into the laminate.
Avoid using anything that has a rough or coarse surface, like scouring pads. It can scratch the floor or cause abrasions which damage the surface. You can use a broom with soft, rounded bristles to remove stubborn dirt from the floor without damaging it.
Avoid dragging or pushing furniture across the flooring as this may cause scratches. A repair kit purchased at a hardware shop can be used to fix minor scratches.
