Do you Suffer from Endometriosis?
Endometriosis is believed to affect a huge number of women all over the country, and currently there is little that can be done to provide relief from this incredibly painful and often debilitating condition.
Common Symptoms
There are many unpleasant symptoms caused by endometriosis. These include but are not limited to:
Heavy and Painful Periods
Pain after sex
Feeling or being sick whilst on your period
Very heavy bleeding whilst on you period
Difficulty conceiving
Of course, these symptoms can cause distress to those who suffer from them and can have a huge negative affect on the way they live their lives. Treatments at present are using over the counter painkillers, hormonal contraceptives and doctors can perform an operation to remove parts of the tissue affected. In extreme cases a hysterectomy (removal of the womb) may be done to cure the problem.
Infertility is one of the most upsetting long-term problems caused by endometriosis for many women, and sometimes surgery to remove some of the affected tissue can help in this situation. Research into this condition is ongoing through paid clinical trials and further research into what causes this.
These are trials that are used to test out new medicines and compare the effectiveness between different treatments, in order to gain a good knowledge going forward of how best to treat various medical conditions. The participants in paid trials are then paid for their commitment to the trial.
